Backup/Restore seems to corrupt database

A person I know at work decided to give 0810 beta2 a try (he has been using 0710 for a while now). I asked him to try doing a backup from his 0810, to see if applying it in 0810 would restore his settings properly. After using the web admin to restore the settings, his MySQL went haywire - with logs being riddled with errors similar to:

ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld.sock'

I also noticed other odd errors while trying to run DisklessCreate_TBZ.sh on his core in addition to the above errors:

Can not write log, openpty()failed (/dev/pts not mounted?)
WARNING: fake invoke-rc.d called

In trying to solve some of these errors, the mysql.conf file had the IP address 0.0.0.0 listed as the server address. Changing this to localhost eliminated some errors, but not all.

All of these problems started after using the web admin to to a database restore from the backup made in 0710.

I have access to both the 0710 and 0810 drives if anyone needs me to find more information. I think we need more people to try to test the backup/restore functionallity as it is needed for Upgrades.
