Files created by build system, leftover dangling symlinks.
I know this may seem like a strange request but here goes.
Due to writing scripts for packer to build LinuxMCE, when copying in the source into the container I found some dangling symlinks created by autotools et al. this prevents copying the source into the container and packer dies due to the file not being found through the symlink pointing to nothing.
Can I please request these files be cleaned up? I don't think they are needed by the build; the files can be recreated. I have tried building through after removing all these files manually and the build succeeded.
Following patches attempt to remove these files, a solution to avoid these files being importing again may be to go in the .gitignore.
Thanks.
PS.. this is what i had to do in a script in packer. I shall try to make a patch for this but including the basic commands now for comment..
cd "${topdir}"/sources/linuxmce/external/xcompmgr-1.1.1+cvs.20051218
rm -f depcomp install-sh missing mkinstalldirs
cd "${topdir}"/sources/linuxmce/src/mce-launcher
rm -f config.sub config.guess
cd "${topdir}"/sources/linuxmce/src/mce-installer
rm -f config.guess config.sub COPYING depcomp INSTALL install-sh missing
cd "${topdir}"/sources/linuxmce/raspbian/linux-image-default-rpi-pxe/package/tftpboot
rm -f initramfs.img
I am not sure about this last one, it looks important but it's still a symlink pointing to nothing, if this can be done relative?
